Mission FCU Promotes Financial Literacy at Local Middle School

Mission Federal Credit Union and the San Diego Chargers have joined forces to score a few financial fitness touchdowns for Nativity Prep Academy.

As the 2010-2011 football season kicks off, for every touchdown the San Diego Chargers score, Mission Fed will make a donation for financial literacy to Nativity Prep Academy, an all-scholarship college prep middle school, east of downtown San Diego.

As part of the "Mission Fed-Chargers Financial Fitness Touchdown Challenge" students at Nativity Prep can also participate in an essay contest, where they will be asked to explain the importance of physical and financial fitness in their lives.

The winning students will be announced at the school on Dec. 7 by a player from the San Diego Chargers who will also talk about the role of physical and financial fitness, teamwork and personal leadership.

"Mission Federal Credit Union is thrilled to team up with the San Diego Chargers," said Tricia Link, vice president community relations/external affairs at Mission Federal Credit Union.
