Fiserv Touts Mobile Money Signings

A triple-mode mobile banking platform from Fiserv Inc. has now been chosen by 150 credit unions, the company said.

The Mobile Money solution supports all three of the commonly used access modes: text messaging, browser-based and downloadable applications. It uses mobile technology from M-Com in Atlanta and is available both in-house and since last fall, in a hosted, application service provider model, the company said.

Eighty-four of the contracted users are now live on the platform, including $339 million Call FCU in Richmond, Va.

The credit union's chief operating officer, Karen Salmons, said the credit union chose Mobile Money because of its integration with other Fiserv solutions in use at Call FCU, including the Portico core processing system. She said more than 300 of its 31,000 members already have signed up to use it.
