COCC said it has deployed a set of new Internet security appliances at the Avon, Conn., data center where it serves 170 credit union and banks.
The client-owned company is using ProxySG and WebFilter solutions from Blue Coat Systems Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif. to enforce client-specific policies it said provides a first line of defense against Web threats.
The appliances and software inspect encrypted data traffic to ensure regulatory compliance, enforce corporate policies and authenticate users, the companies said.
Reporting functions allow each institution to monitor that compliance, track Web activity and discover potential virus and Trojan infections, in conjunction with the cloud-based BlueCoat WebPulse the California company said currently protects more than 62 million end users.
