Arizona's First CU Garners SBA Advocacy Award

Add the $452 million First Credit Union to the growing list of credit unions recognized by the SBA for their lending efforts.

First Credit Union in Chandler, Ariz. was the recent recipient of the 2009 Lender Advocacy Award from the SBA's Arizona district office. According to the agency, it gives the award to lenders who are advocates for small businesses through the SBA's loan programs.

First CU had 32 outstanding SBA loans totaling $1.4 million as of March, NCUA call report data showed.

Several other CUs have also been recognized this year by the SBA with lending awards in their respective states.
