First Community Credit Union has added text banking to the mobile services the 180,000-member CU offers its membership around St. Louis.
More than 150 members signed up for the service in its first month, the credit union said. It's powered by the MShift mobile banking platform and can be used on any SMS-enabled phone to check balances and recent transactions, the $1.6 billion credit union said.
First Community, based in Chesterfield, Mo., already was offering browser-based mobile banking and said it plans to add an iPhone application soon.
