The employee intranet at $5 billion American Airlines Federal Credit Union of Fort Worth, Texas, was voted the winner of the "America's Best Portal Page Competition" held by Passageways LLC.
More than 1,600 votes for the 44 submissions were recorded in online voting open to the general public May 5 to May 12, and the winner was announced at the company's annual PowWOW Conference in Indianapolis on May 12, the company said.
AACU's winning team said they would auction off their prize-an iPad-using an auction module within their intranet portal, and donate the proceeds to a Christmas toy charity.
The three-day PowWOW users conference itself attracted more than 150 industry professionals to the Indiana Roof Ballroom and featured a keynote speech from Mark Meyer, CEO of the Filene Research Institute.
Passageways was founded in 2003 as a CUSO of Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union in West Lafayette, Ind., and now provides employee, board and collaborative community portal and intranet solutions to more than 150 credit unions, banks and other organizations.
