While several credit unions were recently recognized by the SBA as top lenders in their respective states, banks were the winners of the national awards, the agency announced today.
United Central Bank in Garland, Texas won the SBA's 7(a) loan lender of the year award. First Financial Bank in Hamilton, Ohio received the small category 7(a) lender of the year recognition. The large first mortgage lender of the year award went to BBVA Compass in Dallas and Rockland Trust in Rockland, Mass. received the small first mortgage lender of the year award.
The SBA named Atlanta-based SunTrust Bank its export lender of the year and Wells Fargo Bank in Minneapolis received an award for most domestic loans to exporters. The Nebraska Economic Development Corp. earned the large 504 lender of the year award while the Dakota BUSINESS Finance CDC in Sioux Falls, S.D. received the small 504 lender of the year recognition.
The $2.8 billion Redstone Federal Credit Union was recently named Alabama's lender of the year and the $838 million Dupaco Community Credit Union was recognized as Iowa's top 504 first mortgage lender.
The SBA is celebrating entrepreneurs and lenders May 23-29 during the 47th annual National Small Business week.
