NCUA Board to Deal with Mergers, Strategic Plan

The NCUA Board is scheduled to unveil a proposed rule on mergers and conversions at next Thursday's meeting.

The rule deals with the procedures for the direct conversion of credit unions to banks.

Board members are also scheduled to vote on putting the agency's next five-year plan-covering 2010-2015-out for comment.

In addition, the board is scheduled to hear a monthly report on the health of the NCUSIF.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 10:00 a.m. at the agency's headquarters in Alexandria, Va.
