Arizona State Online Opening

Arizona State Credit Union said it is now the first statewide credit union in Arizona to offer online account opening.

The system is now in a soft launch?with no promotion?and has been live for only a couple weeks but already is seeing account opening "at a level consistent with activity we would see in a brick-and-mortar branch.," said Paul Stull, senior vice president of marketing at the $1.3 billion Phoenix-based institution.

The free application process takes less than nine minutes to complete and offers a range of accounts, including savings, checking, money market and share certificates.

"With the volatility in the economy, consumers are seeking out new banking relationships that provide services that more closely align with their needs. We're more than happy to be the right source for them," said David E. Doss, president and CEO of 21-branch Arizona State CU.

Arizona State CU is using the online account opening platform from Andera Inc. of Providence, R.I., the credit union said.
