NCUA Extends Corporate Share Guarantee

The National Credit Union Administration has extended the expiration date of the Temporary Corporate Credit Union Share Guarantee Program another quarter, through June 30, 2012.

The move encourages share deposits in corporates, which are covered under the guarantee if they mature between now and the new expiration date.

The NCUA Board created TCCUSGP Jan. 28, 2009, as part of its effort to stabilize the corporate credit union system. If the option to extend each quarter is fully utilized, the final guarantee would expire Dec. 31, 2014.
