Campaign Warrior to Keynote Conference

President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign manager, David Plouffe, has been tapped to help credit unions harness the power of social media.
Plouffe will be the keynote speaker at the 2010 CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council Conference, March 21-24 in Washington.
"Plouffe's session is essential to attend for many reasons but particularly because credit unions everywhere are looking for ideas in implementing a social media strategy," said Anne Legg, chair of the CMBDC and vice president of marketing for Cabrillo CU.
Plouffe's "Effective Use of Social Media" session will cover his approach to overall strategy development, tactical implementation, harnessing technologies to help connect and engage people to act, and sticking to a game plan in the face of crisis and skepticism.
President Obama called Plouffe "the unsung hero who built the best political campaign in the history of the United States."
In addition to a 2010 economic update and the latest at the NCUA from board member Gigi Hyland, the conference will also cover such topics as communication of mergers, effective Web sites, social media measurement and challenge marketing.
