Selco Opens First Walmart Branch

The $841 million Selco Community Credit Union of Eugene, Ore. opened this week its first full service Walmart branch in a Redmond store.

"By partnering with Walmart, a national retail leader, Selco is able to offer its banking solutions in a familiar place," said a press statement issued this week in connection with grand opening ceremonies for its central Oregon facility.

Selco said it will be operating the branch under the Selco Financial Solutions brand and be open "with extended hours" and that includes 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

This will be the CU's fourth branch in central Oregon in addition to an existing Redmond branch and two Bend branches.

Bob Newcomb, SELCO CEO, said the Walmart branch "is the latest symbol of our on-going commitment to communities" served by the CU. "The personalized service and extended hours provided will make it even more convenient for everyone in the community to access SELCO's wide-range of banking services and financial solutions."
