There's never been a better time for credit unions to reach out to area employers by offering financial education assistance.

A recent Society of Human Resource Management poll entitled "Assistance Organizations Offer to Help Employees Manage their Financial Resources" found that nearly two-thirds of companies provide some type of financial education resources. Reasons for those not providing the service range from cost of providing financial education to uncertainty about how to create of find financial education resources.

Some of the financial education services companies provide include voluntary seminars during work hours using outside speakers, new hire employee orientation, information via an intranet, voluntary seminars lead by trained, in-house staff, and in-house newsletter.
