Texans CUSO Resignations Confirmed

Mike Haselden, president of Texans Insurance Group, resigned Nov. 2 to pursue another career opportunity, Texans Credit Union confirmed last week.
The $1.7 billion credit union said Lindsay Contreras, vice president and program manager of NCIS, a division of the insurance CUSO, resigned Nov. 5. Texans CU spokeswoman Jo Trizila said like Haselden, Contreras left Texans Insurance to work at another company.
Jess Ellis has been named the new president of the CUSO, according to Gary Kirkindoll, president of Texans CUSO Partners.
"Mike and Lindsay were great assets to Texans Insurance Group and will be missed; we wish them the best in their exciting new endeavors," Kirkindoll wrote in an Oct. 29 e-mail statement, adding, "It is still business as usual and there will be no gap in day-to-day management at the agency."
Since 2007, Texans Insurance has had at least three different CEOs. The CUSO, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September, had been embroiled in a legal battle with Kevin Curley, former president of Texans Insurance, in a wrongful termination lawsuit. In July, an arbitrator ruled in Curley's favor.
