Foolproof, the financial literacy package being promoted nationally by the Credit Union Associations of Colorado/Wyoming, picked up a new education backer and another state league Wednesday.
Announcing its Foolproof participation is "Working in Support of Education," a New York-based nonprofit that provides testing and courses for college and work-bound students.
Meanwhile, the Maine Credit Union League became the sixth CU trade group to join the turnkey FoolProof Initiative, a financial education program that combines tech-savvy videos and classroom instruction to teachers and participating CUs across the U.S.
In partnering with FoolProof, John Murphy, president/CEO of the Maine League, said the "multi-faceted program" offers online instruction, which "appeals to a variety of audiences including parents and grandparents, teachers, students and young adults."
David Anderson, executive vice president of Working in Support of Education, which reaches 30,000 students, said FoolProof looks to be a tool "to help young people learn about credit and is an exciting interactive resource."
Meanwhile, Educators Credit Union in Racine, Wis., one of the early Foolproof pilots, said it now has 734 Milwaukee area high school students signed up for FoolProof in the first two weeks of October.
