Tenn. CU Files Claim Against Murdered NFL Player's Estate

Old Hickory Credit Union, based in Old Hickory, Tenn., has filed a claim against the estate of former Tennessee Titan football player, Steve McNair, who was killed in a murder-suicide earlier this year.

McNair was shot by his girlfriend Sahel Kazemi, who later turned the gun on herself.

The credit union's $43,000 claim is for outstanding payments, attorney fess, towing and storage for a Cadillac Escalade McNair bought with Kazemi.

Attorney Gino Marchetti, who is representing the credit union, said that in Tennessee there is a six month deadline after the proof of death to file a claim. McNair was killed on July 4.

"These are pretty common, I see about ten of these a week. There hasn't been any adverse action from the McNair side. We just wanted to meet the deadline," Marchetti said.
