Matz to be Sworn in Monday

NCUA Chairman Designate Deborah Matz is scheduled to be sworn in at 2:00 p.m. next Monday at the agency's headquarters in Alexandria, Va.

Matz, who will be sworn in by NCUA General Counsel Robert Fenner, will become the eighth chairman of the agency's board. Her term on the board expires on April 10, 2015 and she serves as chairman as long as the president wants her to.

She was nominated by President Obama on May 21 and confirmed by the Senate on August 7. Matz was an NCUA Board member from 2002 to 2005.

The current NCUA Chairman Michael E. Fryzel will remain on the board as a member. NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland will be the third member of the board.
