Well, I don't work in the credit union industry, I work in the credit union movement and am proud of it. I think it was disgusting what Grassley said about the AIG employees. He had no right to make the statements he did and does not have the integrity to admit that he was wrong. Furthermore, I strongly believe that he said exactly what he meant to say and is trying to cover it up with [lame] apologies.
His office has ignored repeated inquires and request for an apology. Therefore, he does not believe an apology is needed. So he must believe that the statements were OK and should be accepted at face value.
It is my position that the credit union movement, as well as the credit union industry, should publicly denounce Grassley and withdraw all support for him now and any re-election bid in the future. If we have to support this type of individual, then our chosen field of endeavor is not worth much.
