Teachers Federal Credit Union, Farmingville, N.Y., announced that Christopher B. Wegla has been named assistant vice president-risk management. In his new position, Wegla will be responsible for designing, developing and evaluating risk-management strategies for the credit union. He will also be responsible for disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Wegla is a member of the F.B.I. InfraGard, Community Emergency Response Team and the Long Island Fraud and Forgery Association.
Credit Union National Association, Washington, named Lisa J. McCue vice president of editorial communications at the association. McCue will now head up CUNA's News Now-a daily internet based news and information service for credit unions and those with an interest in credit unions. She will also be responsible for "News Watch" newsletter, the biweekly publication as well as other aspects of communication for the association.
United Teletech Financial Credit Union has announced the promotion of Francis James from chief financial officer/vice president administration to chief financial officer/executive vice president operations. James will now be responsible for the direction of all operating functions for the company. The credit union also announced management shifts in anticipation of the opening of their new branch in Marlboro, N.J. Laura Black has assumed the position of branch manager at the Neptune location. Sarah Nazario was promoted to branch manager at the AT&T location in Middletown, N.J. Randy Pietsch, will become branch manager of the Marlboro, N.J. location when it opens in April 2009. Phillip Woolfolk will be the branch manager of the North Brunswick, N.J., location.
Northeast Family Federal Credit Union, Manchester, Conn., announced that Fred Brown, director of marketing and member development, was elected vice president of the Hartford chapter of the Credit Union League of Connecticut.
Local Government Federal Credit Union, Raleigh, N.C., named Don Larson vice president, human resources. Larson comes to the credit union from the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, where he was senior manager of compensation and benefits. He has over 20 years of experience. Larson will direct all human resources and training for the credit union.
Insight Financial Credit Union, Orlando Fla., named Todd Mellenberndt vice president of lending. Mellenberndt will be overseeing all lines of lending for the credit union. He has more than 12 years of financial experience.
Alabama Telco Credit Union, Birmingham, Ala., announced the hiring of Robby Clark as branch manager for the Southeast Alabama Medical Center location. Clark has 18 years of experience in the banking industry in varying roles. Most recently she was working at Compass Bank.
Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, Fla., announced that Ron Fields will serve as the credit union's president/CEP. Fields has been serving as the interim president since the death of the former chief executive officer. He has been with the credit union since 2001. His career in the credit union industry spans over 30 years.
San Antonio Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced that Leslie J.A. Sachanowicz has joined the management team as senior vice president and corporate counsel. He has been on the board of directors since 1997 and has served as the vice chairman of the board since 2004.
Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Apollo Agencies Inc., the wholly owned property and casualty subsidiary of Kinecta Federal Credit Union, named John Greenlee director of sales. Most recently, Greenlee served as first vice president and national sales manager for Washington Mutual Insurance Services in Irvine Calif.
