Carol Malecki, past president of Educational Credit Union, has been appointed to the Kansas Credit Union Council by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.
"Kansans depend on reliable financial institutions on a daily basis," Sebelius said in a statement. "I am thankful for the dedicated members of this council who ensure that Kansans can continue to rely on credit unions across the state."
Malecki has spent 27 years in the credit union movement. A former board director of the Topeka Credit Bureau and financial adviser at Cornerstone, she will serve a three-year term on the credit union council.
The seven-member advisory council serves as an adviser to the administrator of the Kansas Department of Credit Unions on issues and needs of credit unions.
