Neighbors Credit Union, St. Louis, recently organized a team to take part in the walk now for autism at Forest Park. A gathering of employees, family members and friends of the 21 team members made a donation to the foundation and helped to create an understanding of the disorder. Walk now for autism is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for autism care, support and research. Also, Beth Hurst, the investment representative at Neighbors Credit Union, recently hosted a road to retirement seminar to make retirement successful. The comprehensive workshop focused on many concerns affecting retirees such as social security, pensions, assets and health care.
Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Bethpage, N.Y., announced the return of the renowned exhibition squadron U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as headliners for the sixth annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union air show. The air show will be held Memorial Day weekend 2009 at Jones Beach State Park.

USA One Credit Union, Crete, Ill., recently joined with area businesses to support the Crete-Monee Education Foundation's 10th wine and cheese event fundraiser. The event's theme, come celebrate the spirit in you, was designed to raise funds to support a new summer enrichment program and other districtwide educational activities and facilities.

Credit Union One
, Ferndale, Mich., recently provided, for the 11th consecutive year, a back-up phone bank for the 22nd annual Dick Purtan WOMC Radiothon. The events proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army's bed and bread club.


Meriwest Credit Union
, San Jose, Calif., recently announced that 18 volunteers from their main office and other local financial centers join in a major food sorting and distribution activity at the second harvest food bank warehouse. The credit union's team sorted 6,000 pounds of carrots into 2,000 three-pound bags that were distributed to some of the over 175,000 families the Second Harvest Food Bank serves monthly.
Credit Union of Georgia, Woodstock, Ga., was recently recognized as a platinum partner in education for the Paulding County School District. The event was held at the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce Georgia luncheon.

Ledge Light Federal Credit Union, Groton, Conn., partnered with the Women's Center of Southeastern Connecticut to end domestic violence. The Women's Center runs a program collecting donated cell phones, which are then reprogrammed and given to clients needing a form of emergency communication. These phones are able to call 911 in an emergency.

Diamond Credit Union
, Pottstown, Pa., for the fourth consecutive year sponsored the Pottstown School Districts reading olympics program. The credit union provided team T-shirts and financial support to help purchase books and transportation.

Genisys Credit Union
, Auburn Hills, Mich., recently sponsored the 11th annual taste of Waterford at the Summit Place Mall. The event's theme was all-American baseball, a fundraiser for the Waterford coalition for youth.

Point Loma Credit Union
, Riverside, Calif., held the fifth anniversary celebration of its Riverside branch with a circus-themed party. The community was invited to come join them for family fun. Families were given the opportunity to win a $500 Magic Kingdom package at Disneyland during the festivities.

US Federal Credit Union
, Fridley, Minn., employees volunteered in the 24th annual paint-a-thon last summer. Enthusiastic participants gave their time to help the disadvantaged. Since 1984, paint-a-thon has painted more than 5,800 homes in the Twin Cities' metropolitan area. Also, USFCU will again participate in the month-long Minnesota food-share campaign throughout March. The credit union has participated in the event for many years.

T&C Federal Credit Union
, Bloomfield, Mich., sponsored the children's sports health fair last summer. Hosted by POH Regional Medical Center and POH Riley Foundation, over 100 free sports physicals were administered to Oakland County students ages 18 and under.

CDC Federal Credit Union, Atlanta, announced the celebration of their Northlake branches 60th anniversary. Each Friday during the month of March, members have the opportunity to learn more about the products and services that will assist them during the current economic slump.

Pen Air Federal Credit Union
, Pensacola, Fla., recently sponsored a local community emergency response team training course intended to raise awareness of disaster preparedness and integrate local teams of volunteers to respond in emergency situations. The CERT training program is designed to increase disaster preparedness awareness at the community level.
