Economy Top Subject at NAFCU Conference

Credit union CEOs will hear from two authors on how to manage the recession at NAFCU's 2009 Chief Executive Officer's Conference.
The conference will be held April 22-24 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey in Monterey, Calif.
Tom Davenport, manager of the Institute for Process Management at Babson College and co-author of Competing on Analytics: The New Science of Winning, will be the conference's keynote speaker. He will discuss how credit unions can compete on the basis of their analytical capabilities and build competitive strategy in the current economy.
Kathleen Day is the author of S&L Hell: The People and Politics Behind the $1 Trillion Savings-and-Loan Crisis. She will talk about savings and loans in the 1980s, what can be learned about today's economic crisis and how credit unions can respond to members needs.
Day is the current spokeswoman for the Center of Responsible Lending and covered the financial services industry for The Washington Post for 24 years.
The conference will also feature updates on economic, housing and legislative issues that directly impact the future of the industry.
