"We are deeply saddened by the events that are taking place at CU National Mortgage," said CUMAnet President Daniel von Schaumburg.
"Even though they are our direct competitor in the credit union space, we do respect them for their work in providing credit unions with mortgage lending packages to members who want to become homeowners. No matter how you look at it, that is a noble cause."
It has been reported that 50 offices and 200 employees of U.S. Mortgage, CU National's parent company, will be affected. Both CUMAnet and U.S. Mortgage are located in New Jersey.
"It is our desire to leverage our services to help in any way we can, ensuring their clients-and whatever CU National employees we can-a safe and smooth transition to continue moving forward in this great industry," von Schaumburg said.
