Federation, CDCU Staff, Participate in Financial Hotline

NEW YORK -- Staff from the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions and other CDCUs based in New York City sponsored financial phone bank designed to help low and moderate income New Yorkers better understand and resolve financial issues.

'

Federation staff joined staff from across New York City. Representatives from the Brooklyn Cooperative Federal Credit Union and Neighborhood Trust Federal Credit Union also participated, the Federation said.

While the event was not exclusive to credit unions, it did allow the federation and its members to reinforce the message that credit unions are indispensable in helping low- and moderate-income people confront existing financial problems as well as learning how to avoid new ones. Wherever applicable, referrals were made to local credit unions, the federation said.
