Another Injured Solider Unit in Germany Made Possible Thanks to Andrews Federal Credit Union

SUITLAND, Md. -- Injured soldiers have another Warrior Transition Unit to recover in thanks to Andrews Federal Credit Union.

The $816 million credit union recently sponsored a second suite at the Wiesbaden Army Garrison in Germany.

The unit includes a sleeping area, bathroom, kitchenette and small living room for a single occupant. Andrews FCU has provided the d?(C)cor including linens, toiletries and laundry items. A commissary gift card was also donated by the credit union for food. A soldier's recovery can range from a few months to a year with some returning to active duty and others preparing for the civilian sector, according to the credit union.

"We sponsored the first Warrior Transition Unit earlier in the year and wanted to do more to assist the soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan," said Andrews Federal President/CEO Chris McDonald, who spoke at a dedication ceremony in Germany last month.

Marking the occasion, McDonald thanked the Andrews FCU overseas staff, Wiesbaden Army Garrison Command Team, WTU Cadre and Army Community Service staff for making the soldiers comfortable and safe during their stay at the transition unit.
