Alaska Option is a 25-year-old EFT and ATM network founded, according to its Web site (www.alaskaoption.com), by eight credit unions in Alaska and two Alaskan banks. Since then, the organization has grown to roughly 80 financial institutions, the vast majority of which are credit unions.
Under the agreement, Alaska Option will promote membership in Credit Union 24 to its member organizations, according to an announcement from Credit Union 24.
"This is a natural affiliation," said Jim Park, Credit Union 24 president/CEO. "Credit Union 24 and Alaska Option are similar organizations that augment each other's strengths to benefit our respective member-owners with access, economy and alternatives in the ATM and POS marketplace."
"We are very excited to extend the opportunity for Alaska Option member financial institutions to participate in the CU24 program and have access to their extensive no-surcharge ATM network," said Alaska Option President John Shipe.
