Ex-Treasury Official Named to NCUA

WASHINGTON -- The National Credit Union is getting help in dealing with Congress from a Treasury Department official with extensive experience on Capitol Hill.

Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary for Legislative Affairs Robert U. Foster III started Wednesday as the deputy director of NCUA's Office of Public and Congressional Affairs.

Foster was also a top aide to former House Financial Services Committee Chairman Michael Oxley (R-Ohio) and a lobbyist.

"I am extremely proud to have Bob join us," said NCUA Chairwoman JoAnn Johnson. "His expertise and knowledge will be an asset to the agency, particularly as we navigate the increasingly complicated environment for credit unions in Congress.
