RCU Elects Board Officers

SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Redwood Credit Union has recently re-elected three volunteer officials to the board of directors for the 2008-2011 term.

They are incumbents Robert Steele, Debra Watts and Robert Wieck. The credit union's board has also selected its officers for the year to include Greg McGuirk will serve as chair; Robert Steele as vice chair; Jim Olmsted as secretary; and Debra Watts as treasurer.

Steele has been an RCU volunteer since 1999 and is currently a commercial insurance product director for Fireman's Fund Insurance Co., where he has worked for over 31 years.

Watts has been a volunteer for Redwood CU since 1976 and has held a variety of positions on the board. She holds an associates degree from Santa Rosa Junior College and has been employed by the County of Sonoma for more than 25 years, currently serving as the manager of the customer services division of the Permit and Resource Management Department.

A volunteer since 1976, Wieck has served on the board of directors since 1979. He is retired after 30 years of service to Sonoma County, where he most recently served as administration division director for the Department of Health Services.

RCU has also elected its supervisory committee members. Martin Grove will serve as committee chair, Krishna Kumar as secretary and David Gouin as director.

Kumar has served on RCU's supervisory committee since 2003 and is general manager of the Valley of the Moon Water District. In addition to volunteering his time to benefit several local nonprofits, he has served on the board of directors of the Sonoma Sea Dragons.

Gouin has over 27 years of public service experience with the Sonoma County, the City of Vacaville and the City of Santa Rosa. He currently serves as the executive director of Economic Development and Housing for Santa Rosa. Gouin has been involved in several local organizations such as Petaluma Ecumenical Properties, the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Santa Rosa and is currently on the board of the Bennett Valley Union School District.
