HOBOKEN, N.J. -- Credit Union Times last week announced that Claude Marx has joined the publication as its new Washington, D.C., reporter.
Marx comes into the role with a strong reporting background, most recently as a freelancer writing political articles for publications such as The Boston Globe, The Washington Times, and The St. Petersburg Times. He was also a reporter for the Associated Press.
"I'm very excited to be here," Marx said. "I'm new to the credit union world, but I've had experience writing on how businesses and government interact that I will bring to this position."
Growing up, Marx said that journalism was always something he was interested in as he was an avid reader, and at the age of 10, he created his own newspaper.
Marx also wrote chapters in two books on political science written by Director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia Larry Sabato. One was published in 2005, titled Divided States of America, and is an analysis by Sabato, top election scholars and journalists of the 2004 presidential election. The other was published in 2007 and is titled The Sixth Year Itch. The book is a compilation of contributed essays that offer commentary and insight on the George W. Bush Presidency.
Marx has his bachelor of arts in political science from Washington University in St. Louis and his currently working on his thesis for his masters degree in American government from Georgetown University.
