PEMCO Allows Card Photos

SEATTLE -- Pemco Technologies, a card processor for credit unions, has announced that it will offer its customers a new service called Pemco Cre??taCard. The program enables cardholders to create a credit, debit, or ATM card featuring a personal photo of their choice.

Starting at their financial institution's Web site, cardholders are walked through a simple process that includes uploading a family photo or other special image and viewing how it would look on a payment card.

"These cards have been shown to increase loyalty to financial institutions. It's hard to miss with a product that's fun for the cardholder and boosts both transactions and retention. We expect it will be quite popular," said Dan Cook, Pemco CEO.

By offering personalized cards, Pemco is joining a trend throughout the marketplace to empower consumers to inject their own personality into products. In a similar fashion, the company offers financial institutions a large measure of control by giving them choice and flexibility in adjusting awards programs, risk management options and other services, the processor said.
