Empower CU President Makes Forty Under 40 List

MILWAUKEE -- Empower Credit Union President Jennifer Schilling has been honored by the Milwaukee Business Journal as a "Forty Under 40" award winner.

Over 280 candidates under the age of 40 were judged on their business leadership roles, voluntary efforts and commitment to improving their communities.

Schilling has been at the credit union since 1998 when she became the accountant and later the chief financial officer, before becoming interim president in 2003. Empower CU serves over 5,800 members and has $130 million in assets.

Schilling currently serves on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Credit Union League Services Corp., the Wisconsin Credit Union Shared Service Centers, the Milwaukee Metro Chapter of Credit Unions and is an active member of several other committees within the credit union movement. She is also a graduate of the CUNA Management School.

In addition to her extensive professional career, she is an active volunteer with the Wisconsin Humane Society and is a committee member for its annual Paws and Claws Gala event. She also helps coordinate a number of other community events that benefit local causes.
