Erie General Electric Credit Union, Erie, Pa., opened its seventh branch location at 4268 Buffalo Road. The new location features a digital sign-in pad if an employee is not available to greet a member at the door, complimentary beverages, and a waiting area with a flat screen television. Children can play family-friendly video games in the children's area.

The P & G Mehoopany Employees Federal Credit Union, Tunkhannock, Pa., celebrated the opening of its student-run branch at Tunkhannock High School. Several state and local officials, students, teachers, credit union staff, board members, and media were on site to share the excitement.

Tucson Federal Credit Union, Tucson, Ariz., held the grand opening of its new location in the Marana Fry's Marketplace. Shoppers were treated to free food, fun, and giveaways, including a drawing for three pairs of Accenture Match Play Championship tickets.

IU Credit Union, Bloomington, Ind., held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of its new Ellettsville branch. The branch is approximately 3,300 square feet with a night depository, a drive-up ATM, and four drive-thru lanes. Janet Chaffin, who has been managing the Winslow branch for 17 years, is the branch manager of the new location. The ceremony was attended by credit union staff, volunteers, members of the Elettsville Chamber of commerce, Bynum Fanyo & Associates, Inc., and Will-Harris Builders, Inc.

Finance Center Federal Credit Union, Indianapolis, Ind., celebrated the opening of a new service center on Fox Road. The celebration featured a ribbon cutting ceremony and a VIP reception. Activities at the ceremony included, Ident-a-Kid ID cards that include a child's photo, fingerprint, height, and weight, autographs and pictures with Boomer, the Pacers mascot, refreshments, prizes, and the chance to register for a chance to win a $1,000 Valentine Getaway package.

Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union, Clinton Township, Mich., opened a seventh office location at 2356 Metropolitan Parkway in Sterling Heights. The new location features four drive-thru units and almost 4,000 square feet of space. There is also a Save-A-Lot Squad Kids Club area, plasma screen displays, internet kiosk, 24-hour access ATM, and a coffee bar.

Credit Union of Southern California, Whittier, Calif., announced that its Whittier branch will now be open on Saturdays. Starting Feb. 2 the branch is now open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Three other CU SoCal locations, Brea, Covina, and City of Industry are opened on Saturdays.

Altura Credit Union, Temecula, Calif., celebrated the opening of its 13th branch in the south Riverside County community of Temecula. The branch provides 24-hour drive-up and foyer ATMs, traditional teller service, auto buying service, mortgage loans, insurance and investment services, and a community conference room that local groups can use as space permits. To entice new members, for a limited time, Altura is offering a special, high rate (4.59%) money market account for new members at the branch. The account has a minimum deposit requirement of $25,000.

Altier Credit Union, Tempe, Ariz., celebrated the opening of its newest location in Mesa, on Feb. 15. The Gateway Branch (formally the Superstition Springs Branch), opened on Jan. 22 at 6846 E. Warner Road. Representatives from the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and Altier's primary beneficiary, Special Olympics Arizona, were in attendance at the celebration. The ceremony featured an official dedication, ribbon-cutting, live music, lunch, a raffle with chances to win $50 Altier CU Gift Cards, and Phoenix Suns tickets. Additionally, any resident that received an "Instant Gold Scratcher" door hanger had the chance to win a $10,000 jackpot. The Gateway Branch features a two-lane drive-thru, drive-up ATM, 24/7 secured walk-up ATM, and increased lobby-space. It provides no-fee checking and savings accounts with no minimum balance, certificates of deposit, first mortgages, vehicle loans, home equity lines of credit, retirement education loans, VISA debit, credit and ATM cards.
