A+Federal Credit Union Selects Savings Challenge Finalists

AUSTIN, Texas -- A+ Federal Credit Union and the local Austin Fox 7 station have recently announced the three families chosen as finalists for the Savings Challenge '08.

The families will compete for a $10,000 grand prize that will be awarded to the family that shows the most progress toward achieving its financial goals. During their extreme financial makeover, these families will be challenged to increase their savings and eliminate debt.

The family finalists are: the de Alcala Family, Meyer Family, and Schievelbein Family.

Each family has been paired with an A+FCU financial coach who, over the next nine months, will carefully review each family's financial plans and strategies and assist them in achieving their financial goals.

According to A+FCU Pflugerville Branch Manager and Financial Counselor Irma Longoria, the hope is that the challenge will help reach and inspire others that any American family can improve their financial lives.

"Through this Savings Challenge, A+FCU continues to demonstrate its commitment to getting involved in the community, helping people become skilled in money management, and emphasizing the need to prepare for one's financial future by saving and investing today," said Longoria. "This is also a natural extension of our mission statement to serve members by becoming a "financial partner helping you fulfill your life-long dreams."
