KIRKWOOD, Mo. -- The $3.3 million Kirkwood Municipal Credit Union was attempting last week to resume a semblance of normal operations following the death of three of its members in the horrific Feb. 7 shooting rampage at the Kirkwood City Hall.
"Thanks to everyone for their concern and support and prayers for the victims," declared Robert Dielschneider, president/CEO of the 600-member CU located in this St. Louis suburb.
Situated in City Hall, the CU was forced to re-locate to a city parks building and remained open for only limited hours during most of last week as its employees took part in memorial services.
Among the victims of the shooting which left six people dead were two police officers and the city public works director, who were all CU members. Also hit in the shooting was Mayor Mike Swoboda who suffered two head wounds and survived but was in critical condition.
