Desert Schools Raises $340,000 for CMN Hospital

PHOENIX -- Desert Schools Federal Credit Union continues to hold the record as the top fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network in the nation, drawing in $340,000 in 2007--a $90,000 increase from a year ago.

In a Jan. 22 ceremony marking its latest contribution, CU officials presented a check for $340,000 to help support "One Darn Cool School" for patients at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

The hospital said support of Desert Schools and other Arizona CUs "makes it possible for a hospital team to provide the wildlife experience and other educational programs and services to the patients at Phoenix Children's." The hospital is the state's leader in pediatric care and is one of the 10 largest free-standing children's hospitals in the nation.
