Countrywide Exec Goes To Fiserv

BROOKFIELD, Wis. -- Fiserv Inc. has named a 30-year technology veteran and former senior executive at Countrywide Financial Corp. to a new position as executive vice president and chief information officer.

Richard K. Jones will report to President/CEO Jeffery Yabuki and have oversight responsibility for global infrastructure and technology governance, and for spearheading programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness of Fiserv's dispersed technology resources.

"Richard's proven experience leading technology in a world-class financial services organization will bode very well for Fiserv. His vast experience and leadership skills should significantly enhance the execution of our Fiserv 2.0 strategies," Yabuki said.

Jones has 30 years of technology experience. The last 12 have been with Countrywide, where he has been senior managing director and CIO since 2000. There, Fiserv said, Jones established industry-leading technology practices, developed Countrywide's global mortgage banking software and Web site infrastructure, enhanced risk management capabilities and led the replacement of legacy systems.
