Coastal FCU Forms Realty CUSO

RALEIGH, N.C. -- To bring another real estate alternative to the Triangle area here, Coastal Federal Credit Union has launched Daymark Realty.

Daymark, which will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the $1.8 billion credit union, was formed out of a partnership between it and existing realtors. The CUSO currently has seven licensed realtors and will be managed by broker-in-charge Louis Guillama and realtor Michael Laino, who bring to the company a combined 20 years of real estate experience, according to the credit union.

"While new to the Triangle, a credit union-owned realty company is a business model that has worked well in other markets; it's the right fit for Coastal, as well," said Larry Wilson, Coastal's president/CEO. "We're certain that the service that we've developed in Daymark Realty will provide the best benefit to the credit union, to our team of realtors and, most importantly, to anyone that takes advantage of our services."

Although Daymark's realty services are available to anyone, credit union members will have enhanced benefits, dubbed the "Daymark Advantage."

"It's a partnership that makes sense," Guillama said. "Coastal has a reputation for providing quality financial products and services and looking out for members' best interests. Add a layer of service where people looking to buy or sell a home can get help from someone they already know and trust, and you start taking a lot of the hassle out of the real estate experience."

Laino added, "More than ever, a home is more than just a place to live. A real estate transaction is an important financial decision, and it benefits buyers and sellers alike to partner with a reputable financial institution. As a realtor, if I can provide that partner as a resource to my clients and save them some money in the process, I'm providing a tremendous value."

Daymark Realty has an office location in Raleigh, with agents capable of representing clients and listing properties throughout the entire Triangle, according to Coastal. Current home listings and information for perspective homebuyers and sellers are available on the company's Web site, www.daymarkrealty.com.
