Andrews FCU, ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8 Help Soldiers Send Holiday Greetings

SUITLAND, Md. -- Andrews Federal Credit Union is working with ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8 to provide service men and women the opportunity to send season's greetings to their family members back home.

Nearly 250,000 men and women in the military are deployed overseas during this year's holiday season.

The 30-second television spots ran from Dec. 17 through Jan. 1, 2008 at various times throughout the day. Each spot featured three different individuals from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Some 100 soldiers were showcased during this time period.

"We at Andrews Federal are privileged to provide these brave men and women with the opportunity to reconnect with their families. Although there is no way to repay these individuals for their dedication to this country, we wanted to show a small token of our appreciation for their efforts," said Andrews Federal president/CEO Michael Hale.

As Washington's only local 24/7 news station, the two channels provide a weekly reach to over 3.4 million adults.
