CheckFree Offers E-Billing from Allstate

BROOKFIELD, Wis. -- Allstate insurance customers now will be able to receive and pay their bills through the more than 3,000 electronic billing and payment Web sites served by CheckFree, the companies say.

Beginning this month, Allstate will be sending the e-bills to consumers through their online accounts at credit unions, brokerages and banks who use CheckFree, now a part of Fiserv.

The service will save paper and help build loyalty between members, customers and their financial institutions, CheckFree says.

"Providing customers with more control over how, when and where they receive and pay their bill is a tangible example of how companies like Allstate can optimize customer interactions to build stronger relationships," says Jardon Bouska, executive vice president and general manager of CheckFree Electronic Biller Services.

CheckFree cites a June 2007 study by Javelin Strategy & Research that says if all U.S. households viewed and paid their bills online, it would annually save 16.5 million trees, and reduce toxic air pollutants at a level similar to having 355,015 fewer cars on the road.
