OAK RIDGE, Tenn. -- It's a new brand identity for K-25 Federal Credit Union.
On November 5, the $260 million credit union will be known as Enrichment Federal Credit Union.
As a community credit union serving eight East Tennessee counties, with an increasingly diverse membership and the closing and subsequent renaming of the K-25 Plant, the time was right for a name change says Pres-
ident/CEO Wayne Hope.
"It was an emotional decision and one that we struggled with, but ultimately we agreed that a name change is instrumental to the future growth and development of this credit union," Hope said. "Even though members will see a new name in Enrichment Federal Credit Union it's still K-25. We're the same people and the same operation, but members and the community should look for some special rates and services in conjunction with the name change event."
In selecting a name, Hope said it was important that it reflect the heritage of the employees that first chartered K-25 Federal Credit Union in 1950--the employees of the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion (K-25) Plant that is currently known as the East Tennessee Technology Park.
The new name pays tribute to the original K-25 Plant mission of uranium enrichment while reinforcing its brand image as a partner who is there to help reward and improve the lives of its members.
