LOGAN, Utah -- Member Business Lending, LLC was the sponsor of the sixth annual Rural Business Conference hosted by Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) and the Utah Rural Development Council held May 30-31 here.
The Rural Business Conference offered practical solutions to the unique challenges faced by Utah's rural businesses, and presenters are selected with an emphasis on their ability to offer real-world advice to rural business owners, according to officials. Breakout sessions focused on new opportunities in agriculture, marketing and brand awareness, protecting digital information, acquiring small business capital, and more.
Steven Preston, administrator for the Small Business Administration, spoke on the role of the entrepreneur in the nation's economy and federal assistance to small businesses. Alan E. Hall, founder and chairman of Marketstar, shared the story of building his sales and marketing outsourcing company in Ogden, Utah. MBL president/CEO Kent Moon, a 33-year veteran of the small business lending industry, addressed attendees at the breakfast program on May 31.
"Small businesses have historically been underserved in this country as it relates to financial products and services," Moon said. "I'm honored to have the opportunity to participate at this rural business-focused conference and share some insights into new, cost-effective products now available to smaller businesses that have traditionally only been available to their larger rivals."
