Catholic Church Rolls Out Evangelism Card

NEW YORK -- Catholics around the country have begun to receive information on an affinity credit card that will allow them to support the Roman Catholic Church's Society for the Propagation of The Faith with their card purchases.

Offered by a combination of Washington Mutual and Follieri Capital, the new "World Missions Visa" will offer full "Platinum Visa" benefits, free online "FICO" credit-score access, and money saving coupons, online bill payment, zero fraud liability and no annual fee. Follieri Capital provides financial products and services to Roman Catholic Church organizations in the U.S.

The money collected from the card purchases goes to support Church programs in more than 1,100 of the world's poorest dioceses.

A direct-mail campaign and print ad campaign in Catholic newspapers has been launched to roll out the card, the banks announced.
