Altura CU Celebrates New Building Bringing Four CUSOs Together

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- All of Altura Credit Union's four CUSOs are now housed in one building.

The $821 million credit union recently opened a new, central location to house its subsidiaries, Auto Expert, Amerit Escrow, Inc., Patrion Insurance, Inc., and Patrion Mortgage, LLC.

The offices for the various companies were in two main offices in Riverside County with some at Altura's Operations and Technology Center in Riverside and another based in Temecula. Satellite offices are still in place for Patrion Mortgage, but administration and operations for all four companies are now centralized at the new building.

"We really saw a benefit to consolidating our operations. The new office also gives us room to expand in the future," said Mark Hawkins, Altura CEO. "The complex is elevated and very visible and easily accessible by two different freeways. It presents a very professional image, which is important for our companies that are building a reputation." Hawkins said that it will be especially convenient to have Patrion Mortgage and Amerit Escrow in one location. During its start-up year, Amerit will serve Patrion Mortgage customers exclusively, he added. "We looked at nine other facilities before we selected this one," said Elaine Walker, vice president of facilities. "This met our needs to pull the majority of our employees together into one location that is a relatively convenient drive for all of them, as well as for our members and the public." Gerry Agnes was recently promoted to president of Altura CU in part to bring consistency to the four CUSOs, which are all headed by presidents. Agnes, who previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Altura, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the CU and will continue to serve as a board member of the CUSOs. --msamaad@cutimes.com
