EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority will bestow its award for the top credit union lender in the state to $750 million Royal Credit Union.
RCU is in the top 10 in the state out for all financial institutions for WHEDA loans. In 2006, RCU assisted 166 families for a total amount of $16.3 million in WHEDA loans. The average for a financial is assisting 16 families for total loans of $1.8 million, the CU said.
"This is truly an honor for RCU. This is the third year we have received this award and I think it's a true testament to our employees providing first time home buyers with low cost home financing," said Linda Marincel, RCU home loan manager.
RCU is a federally insured credit union serving over 107,000 members with 12 full service offices in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Whitehall, Rice Lake, Colby, and New Richmond.
