NCUA Takes Control of Conserved Kansas Credit Union

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The Kansas Department of Credit Unions appointed NCUA conservator of Communities United Credit Union in Wichita, Kan.

As conservator, NCUA assumed operations of the state chartered federally insured credit union. The agency plans to run the $2.3 million credit union to continue full member service and ensure safe and sound management of the institution. Communities United serves approximately 1,900 members.

NCUA stated that member funds are safe and accounts are federally insured to at least $100,000 per account by the NCUSIF.
