The vast majority of credit union members use multiple channels to conduct their financial transactions. Over 90% conduct business inside a financial institution's lobby, while roughly 70%-75% conduct ATM withdrawals and drive-up window transactions, and make credit card and/or check card purchases. Credit union members are weaker users of drive-up windows and cell phone/PDA transactions than are nonmembers. Focusing on members in the different age groups, the use of ATM withdrawals, check card purchases, online banking and bill pay are highest among those 18 to 34 and drop as age increases.
