NCUA Updates Internet Transaction Tips Brochure

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- NCUA released its latest version of the agency's brochure, Tips to Conduct Financial Transactions Over the Internet. The changes made provide updated information for conducting Internet transactions and related resource Web sites. The 13-page brochure covers how members can protect their privacy, how to ensure safe online transactions via encryption and passwords, and encourages members to ask their credit union for further guidance. It also tells where to report suspected fraud, gives NCUA's fraud hotline (800-827-9650) and recommends contacting the Federal Trade Commission if you've been a victim of identity theft.

The brochure is available online at NCUA's Web site at http://www.ncua.gov/news/express/xfiles/NCUA8061.pdf.
