LINDEN, N.J. -- For one day only, E53 Federal Credit Union offered members a special Halloween treat--a CD paying 10% APY.
The "first come first serve" one day promotion was limited to one 10-month CD per member for the first 350 members. Members were also required to have an E53 checking account, credit card or direct deposit.
"We wanted to both thank our members and get their attention. We succeeded on both counts," said E53 FCU President/CEO Michael Greenwood.
In addition to generating a huge buzz about the credit union and a 36% boost in CDs, the promotion brought in new members, new checking accounts and an increase in other products and services.
