WESTBROOK, Maine -- The Maine Credit Union League is happy with the results at the ballot box from Election Day 2006. After everything was tallied up, Senator Olympia Snowe (R) handily won re-election. She serves as chair of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. In the House, the league endorsed the state's two incumbent Congressmen Mike Michaud (D) and Tom Allen (D) who both won by wide margins. The league also won at the state level, helping nudge Governor John Baldacci (D) to a re-election victory.
Nearly all (94%) of the state legislature candidates the league endorsed won their races.
