Unitus Community Credit Union, Portland, Ore., mourns the loss of Tom Bushman, a supervisory committee leader since 2001 and a credit union member since 1955. Bushman joined the credit union 51 years ago as an employee at US West, when Unitus was Oregon Telco Credit Union and exlusively served the telecommunications industry. After retiring from US West in 1996, Bushman immersed himself in fundraising for Community Health Charities of Oregon as a Loaned Executive for the United Way. Erwin Michael, longtime board member at First Community Credit Union, Chesterfield, Mo., recently passed away. A great promoter of credit unions, Michael served as treasurer of the board since 1974. He retired from the board in May 2006.
